I have some kruckin’ good news! All our wishes have finally been fulfilled, and somebody up there (in orbit) likes us! The Zombie Astronaut, the proprietor of the ghoulishly great OTR and audio drama website (and his own Frequency Of Fear podcast) has set up an “unofficial Canadia: 2056 podcast” feed! This follows in the tradition of other unofficial podcast feeds for other CBC Radio shows like Wiretap and The Age Of Persuasion.
ZA, who is orbiting high above the earth in his Zombie Space Station, plans on podcasting one episode of the program daily until he’s caught up with the radio broadcasts! Episode 18 of Canadia: 2056 airs on all CBC Radio One stations this week.

The second episode of season two of Canadia: 2056 airs tonight at 11PM on CBC Radio One.
To celebrate, CBC has started a contest… here are the details:
“Canadia: 2056 Future Graphic Contest
Can you draw, paint or have some other artistic talent? Or are you the type to create a graphic using Photoshop or some other image manipulation program? Have you ever thought about one of the characters from Canadia: 2056 or the ship itself and had an idea of what they looked like? Yep, today’s the day, and tonight’s the night – Tonight at 11PM in every time zone across Canada (‘cept Newfoundland) CBC Radio One is premiering the first episode of the second season of Matt Watt’s Canadia: 2056! This is exciting isn’t it?

Six months after their fateful return to Earth, the Canadian maintenance ship Canadia and her crew lay in ruins.
The captain has deserted his post, Anderson and the Robot have gone off seeking answers, Faverau tries to hold on to the past and Lewis is left to try to put it all back together. They have all but given up hope that the human race can survive. Until a sign from above reaffirms their belief in the human spirit… kind of.

Speaking of advertising, another terrific CBC radio show that isn’t being podcast seems to have taken a big step toward it… The Age of Persuasion hosted by Terry O’Reilly, has placed some BBC-style “listen again” links on it’s sub-page! Matt Watts, writing on his blog, sez:
“I just finished writing the last episode of Canadia [that’s Canadia: 2056 – Season 2]… Like five minutes ago. We still have 2 episodes left to record, but I’m done with the writing. Done.
It’s bittersweet for sure. I’m not exactly sure how I feel. A bit relieved, a bit sad… A bit… Tired. Actually, shit, really tired.
24 episodes in a year and a half. 10 the first season, 14 this season.
I hope people like this season (Which, incidentally, starts this Wednesday @11pm on CBC radio 1)…
Anyway, I’m going to bed. For a few days, I think. Then I’ll catch up on all the e-mails… taxes… life… That I’ve been neglecting for so long.
I had a hell of a time. Not many people get to do what I just did. I’ve been really lucky for this experience.
Ahh, feels nice…

Oh… There’s this little… Twinge of something… In my gut… What is that…
