Podio Media Chat interviews me! Greatest interview ever? You decide…

SFFaudio Online Audio

PodioMedia ChatPodioMedia Chat has just posted it’s very best every episode ever (now and future), and I don’t just say that because I’m the guest interviewee – I’m being objective here. Chris Moody, the host, asked a lot of great questions, I explained about how SFFaudio got started, the SFFaudio Challenges (1 and 2) and my love of audiobooks and audio drama. We also chatted extensively about the state of the podosphere touching on producers like Christiana Ellis’s Space Casey, Decoder Ring Theatre, Crazy Dog Audio Theatre, Broken Sea, Sonic Society, Wormwood, Escape Pod, Beam Me Up, Mark Nelson’s reading of The Green Odyssey and lots more.

I also talked about the infamous “Amateur Audio Drama & What’s Wrong With It” commentary, LibriVox, Podiobooks.com, how to become a reviewer for SFFaudio, how to make Audio Drama (and Radio Drama), and the disconnect between audiobooks and podiobooks. I even got a plug in for Canadia: 2056. Whew!

Philosophy Bites: talks why Time Travel isn’t just impossible, it’s a silly idea

SFFaudio Online Audio

Philosophy Bites podcastYa, in the space of three or so weeks I send you to Philosophy Bites, a podcast interviewing today’s “top philosophers”. I guess I like the show huh? The latest show is very interesting as the host Nigel Warburton interviews D.H. Mellor, a philosopher specializing on “time.” We normally think of events happening in time. And that time is essentially tensed (that there is past, present, future). D.H. Mellor argues against this, in the podcast interview he explains why time isn’t tensed – and thus why Time Travel is a completely mistaken idea. This is fascinating, Mellor shows how any kind of ‘grandfather murder plot paradox’ is an impossibility because we are misapprehending the nature of time.
