Tor.com’s The Geek’s Guide to the Galaxy Podcast has an fun interview with Steve Eley—editor of Escape Pod. After the interview wraps the hosts, John Joseph Adams and David Barr Kirtley, talk about audiobooks in a form not at all unlike SFFaudio’s own long running SFFaudio Podcast. Luckily for Messrs. Adams and Kirtley they give right and proper props to SFFaudio.com – and thus avoid a sternly worded email from SFFaudio’s crack legal department (crack as in “excelling in skill or achievement” rather than on crack).
A few weeks ago, Tor.com launched their fiction podcast (Tor.com Story Podcast) with Mur Lafferty at the helm. Today, they launched another podcast, called The Geek’s Guide to the Galaxy, hosted by John Joseph Adams and David Barr Kirtley.
They plan to talk all things geek, it looks like, and this episode is a must-listen if you plan to survive the coming zombie invasion. Their guest is Chet Faliszek, lead writer/game designer on Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, and they spend an hour discussing zombies and apocalyptic stories for your enjoyment.
“Most of the stories in this book are either inspired by Romero’s ‘unholy trilogy’—Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Day of the Dead—or are a reaction to it.”
There are 34 stories in the anthology. Three are currently available in audio form from Pseudopod and WBAI 99.5 FM’s Hour Of The Wolf (there are two different readings of the David Barr Kirtley story BTW).

“Meg hadn’t heard from Devon in four months, and she realized that she missed him. So on a whim she tossed her sword and scabbard into the trunk of her car and drove over to campus to visit him.” First appeared in Realms of Fantasy, October 2007.
Podible Paradise: The Viable Paradise Podcast is a show covering the attendees of the Viable Paradise writer’s workshop, a week-long, residential SF and Fantasy Writing workshop held every fall in Martha’s Vineyard. Interviewees are typically current and former instructors or former students. The subjects talked about mostly revolve around what it’s like to attend and what’s learned there. One caveat, this show is NOT in the standard MP3 format, it is in the less compatible M4A format.
