The Nameless stories are old fashioned PI tales, with a kind of everyman protagonist working the mostly unkind streets of San Fransisco. Thanks for posting the Bill Pronzini story. B.P. is one of the few modern writers who has the same feel about his stories as Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett.

Thanks for the heads up Jesse, I’ve posted about it at the Pulp Reader. I occasionally read Pronzini’s Nameless Detective yarns in Ellery Queen Magazine. The audio was a lot of fun. I didn’t realize Bill had so many audiobooks of his stuff!
